I was amidst shopping for my trip to Greece, with headphones in, sifting through summer outfits at a Pull & Bear store in Toulouse, France. While standing in a long line for the fitting room, I noticed a couple in front of me wearing the coolest coordinating grunge outfits. Approaching them, I commented on the lengthy wait and asked if they lived in Toulouse. I then showed them my work, mentioning that I am a photographer, and asked them if they’d like to work together. To my surprise and excitement, they agreed happily to having their photos taken and I began planning a session with them.
A few weeks prior, while wandering aimlessly, I stumbled upon the most beautiful cathedral and courtyard: Saint Stephen’s Cathedral. I knew instantly that this was where I wanted to capture the photos. Being a photographer in France, I have been learning French sufficiently to direct and guide couples during sessions. Despite the language barrier, their profound love translated perfectly as we proceeded with the photo shoot. This session remains one of my favorite couple’s photo sessions in France. My camera remains one of my favorite ways to meet and connect with people wherever I go.
